Digital Leaders Spotlight: Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan has been a vocal advocate and a champion of digital transformation in central Asia. Kazakhstan is ranked 28th globally on the UN E-Government index. More than 1,000 different public services are available online and more than 90% of Kazakhstan’s economically active population is using the country’s electronic government platform – e.Gov.
Digital Leaders Spotlight: Kenya
Kenya has set itself an ambitious digital transformation agenda. According to the Digital Master Plan (2022-2032), the country seeks to enhance government service delivery to citizens by digitalization of 80% of government services. However, there’s a lack of a coordinated approach, characterized by the siloed implementation of automation in the Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

Despite being an emerging State with a relatively low ranking on the global e-government development index, Somalia has exhibited commitment toward the digitalization of government services. The country has made great strides in the development of ICT laws, regulations and policies, broadband expansion, universal access and plans to build a National Data Centre.

In September 2019, Ukraine embarked on its digital transformation journey by establishing the Ministry of Digital Transformation (MDT), aiming to streamline bureaucratic processes for citizens and civil servants. Horn of Africa
Modular early warning system for extreme weather situations
Main objective: Software development
Description: In East Africa, collaboration with ICPAC (IGAD) and GIZ has led to the development of an early warning system (HUSIKA) for extreme weather, built using modular software components compliant to GovStack specifications. A demo is publicly testable on GovStack’s demo environment. The full implementation is designed to scale across countries. Here, GovStack’s contribution lies in enabling systems that can be adapted and extended over time, supporting institutions to respond more effectively to climate risks through flexible and interoperable infrastructure.
